Born and raised in the city of Tokyo,Japan,

Japanese culture has always given me inspirations and creative perspective

A Torii (鳥居) is a traditional Japanese Gate commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto Shrine,

where it symbolically marks the transition from the mundane to the sacred

The presence of a torii at the entrance is usually the simplest way to identify Shinto shrines

In this project, I aimed to explore a beauty of Torii 鳥居 and its culture
by visually transforming it to a table set furniture concept "TORii"

The function of a torii is to mark the entrance to a sacred space.
